Asheville Mountain-Modern Family Home

Our clients chose to build this home during the height of COVID-19. Availibility of building materials, budget —and multiple design changes due to these—created a plethora of issues during the build. In the end, the clients were amazed with what they received. They yearned for a mountain-modern oasis to enjoy as a second home. They made it clear, that even though they loved modern architecture, they wanted the space to feel warm and inviting to their family and friends. We started with warm tones via stained wood, and employed a warmer color palette to achieve the look they craved. Layers of textiles, wallpaper, tile, and accessories create a homey feel, while the architecture provides the open sight-lines and clean elements of the mountain-modern style. Many local artisans were used to create one-off lighting, tile designs, furnishings, and custom furniture, rooting the home in its environment .
