A WNC Custom Home Designed Through Builder-Designer Collaboration

This Western North Carolina mountain home is a study in what happens when thoughtful interior design and skilled craftsmanship come together early. In collaboration with Live Edge Builders, FS Design Group helped shape a home that feels deeply connected to its setting near Asheville, with layered mountain views, natural materials, and warm architectural details guiding the design.

White oak trees cleared from the property were thoughtfully reintroduced into the home through custom bunk beds, shelving, and nickel-gap wall installations, giving the interiors a sense of story that could not be replicated off the shelf. Every finish, texture, furnishing, and lighting choice was selected to support the homeowners’ vision: comfort without heaviness, sophistication without formality, and mountain character refined for modern life.
